SEALANTS

The most common location for a cavity in a child’s mouth is on the surfaces of the back teeth. Sealants are invisible plastic resin coatings applied to children’s teeth as a preventive measure from tooth decay.

BABY ROOT CANALS

A “baby root canal”, also known as a pulpotomy or pulpectomy is the most commonly needed nerve treatment for a baby tooth. The treatment is performed when a deep cavity in a child’s baby tooth goes into the nerve or pulp of the tooth.

STAINLESS STEEL CROWN

Baby teeth or primary teeth decay much faster than permanent teeth. This allows cavities to spread rapidly and even damage the permanent teeth. When the cavity is too large to be repaired with a filling, a crown is the last line of defense.

SPACE MAINTAINERS

A primary function of baby teeth is to hold space for the permanent adult teeth that will eventually push them out. A child may need a space maintainer if they lose a tooth prematurely due to injury or dental decay.
